Abstract
In today's competitive job market, recruiters receive thousands of resumes for limited job openings. Manually screening these resumes is time-consuming, inconsistent, and prone to human error. The proposed project, Smart Resume Screener using ML on AWS, aims to automate and optimize the initial candidate screening process using Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques deployed on a scalable, serverless AWS cloud infrastructure.
This intelligent system extracts key skills, qualifications, and experience from resumes and matches them with job descriptions using a trained classification model. It ranks and shortlists suitable candidates automatically, significantly reducing recruiter workload and turnaround time.
The project is developed as a web-based platform where HR professionals can upload resumes in bulk, enter job criteria, and instantly receive a ranked list of candidates. AWS services like S3 (for file storage), Lambda (for processing), SageMaker (for ML model deployment), and DynamoDB (for storing results) are used to ensure scalability and efficiency.
This project demonstrates the integration of NLP, Machine Learning, cloud computing, and web technologies to solve a real-world HR problem with smart automation.
