Shiva is primarily known in Hinduism as the "Destroyer" within the Trimurti (holy trinity) alongside Brahma and Vishnu, signifying the destruction of impurities, evil, and illusions to allow for regeneration and positive transformation. As a supreme deity, he is also revered as the Adi Yogi (first yogi), god of meditation, yoga, arts, and the master of life and death.
